海之恋

约翰·梅斯菲尔德（1878—1967），英国诗人。主要作品有诗集《盐水谣》，长诗《永恒的宽恕》及历险小说《徒劳》等。英国诗人。14岁当水手，后自学成为记者，1930年被授予英国第22届“桂冠诗人”称号。

《海之恋》是约翰·梅斯菲尔德最著名的诗，由此，他被誉为“大海的诗人”。他在诗中表达了他从尘嚣中回归大海，回归大自然的豁达之情。而这种回归大自然并非宿命的避世，而是迎战前的稍息，因为他“还要在海雾蒙蒙时出航”，“好感受破晓时分的朦胧紫光”。在诗中还表达了他向往自由，要“像吉普赛人一样享受一次流浪”，要“像海鸥搏击长空，巨鲸嬉戏大洋”。正如现代人，不再为了传统的“根”，而据守故里。只要你不怕流浪，愿意奋斗终生，终将无怨无憾。

I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,

And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,

And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking,

And a grey mist on the sea’s face and a grey dawn breaking.
