Introducing the marriage vow, the Ministry of Civil Affairs ( MC)A says, is aimed at improving new couples' sense of mutual responsibility and their awareness of the Marriage Law.

民政部表示，引入结婚誓词的目的是提升新人的共同责任意识和对《婚姻法》的认识。

文中的marriage vow就是指“结婚誓词”，也被称为wedding vow或者marriage oath。今后，newly-weds（新人）在marriage registry（结婚登记处）领取marriage certificate（结婚证），进行marriage registration（结婚登记）时，在检查marital status（婚姻状况）后，需要跟随marriage registrar（登记员）taking their oath（宣读誓言）。
